Az Jackson Mysterious Lone Figure

In this image Jackson has used leading lines with the bridge railings and supports to lead the viewer’s eyes around the image and explore every corner. He has also placed the subject just off centre, making the subjects the only component of the image not to be symmetrical, breaking up the flow the symmetricality the image has created. This image is very moody, which has been created with the image being very contrasted in black and white, creating a wide tonal range where you can see every detail. He has also created this mood by giving the subject on an umbrella, as well as shooting on a dull day creating quite a dull Image where he boost the contrast and black and white tones in the image.

This image by Az Jackson of the golden gate bridge is particularly interesting as he has used a slow shutter speed to capture the movement within the moving sea surrounding the bridge, giving the water a very soft look and removing any ripples or choppiness from the sea-water, almost creating the appearance of a cloud. He has also used the leading lines of the bridge to draw the viewer’s eyes across the image almost horizontally through the centre of the image. Jackson has made this image quite saturated and vibrant which really makes the red bridge pop against the yellows and blues of the sky and the water behind and below the bridge, making the bridge a very prominent subject. If I were to change anything about this image I would’ve maybe not have kept the shutter open so long as I feel he has lost most of the texture and detail within the clouds and the water.
